People moving into Great Britain to live, from a country outside the EEC, have to confirm that they are moving into accommodation that is of a suitable standard and that will not be made overcrowded by their arrival.
A named individual normally has to sponsor the person moving into the area and this individual namely the sponsor, is asked by the immigration authority for proof that the property being moved into, is suitable. The British High Commission usually ask that a suitably qualified person undertake this work.
The inspection is designed to ensure that the accommodation meets the following criteria:
the minimum fitness standard under the Housing Acts are met
is in a reasonable state of repair; and
has sufficient space to accommodate both the existing occupiers and any additional people who propose to live there.
Immigration Accommodation Reports
In order to request an Immigration Accommodation Report, please contact our office on 0208 902 8192, or fill in our online form. We will aim to contact you within 24 hours.
We will only visit to assess the immigration applicant's proposed accommodation once the completed online application form is received together with a cheque for the correct fee.
We have several reputable surveyors, estate agents and private environmental health officers working under our scheme who assist in the collection of information to help us compile the accommodation report.

Charges are non-refundable fees for this service:
£150.00 for routine inspection requests and report
£250.00 for urgent requests required within three working days of having received your initial instructions and cleared funds.
£15.00 for requests to amend the applicant details or the report.

When we visit, you will need to provide evidence of the applicant’s right, or yours, to occupy the accommodation, such as the tenancy agreement or proof of home ownership. We will also need copy of identification of the sponsor and details of the applicant/s. We prefer that this information be forwarded to our office before the visit is undertaken
What happens next?
After the visit, we will confirm in writing whether the accommodation is suitable, or explain why it is not and advise you thereafter as to what steps and measures need to be taken to ensure that the accommodation meets the required Health and Safety criteria and fitness standard under the Housing Acts. We have successfully managed to advise and assist many clients whose applicants have come from Nepal, India, Pakistan, Sri Lankha and other countries.
